A Fair is Coming to Town

The ideas of holding an Interstate Fair Exposition in Spokane Falls is now being encouraged by a handful of activists.

The leading citizens in town have formed a committee.

The idea was originally suggested in a Spokane Falls Review news story on April 21, 1890.

The idea has struck a populist cord.  Beside local support, there is a strong desire by the surrounding towns who wish to display their products in the fair.  That suggests a strong probability of success.

There seems to be assurance that the attendance will be big and the displays of products plentiful.  The idea is novel and new to the community.  A lot more will be told later in the year as the International Exposition idea develops into a large planned event.
